I have been so very unfit (and very overweight) for such a long time I have forgotten what it is like to have even a modicum of fitness, I intend to record my gym and class visits in this dairy... just to keep a track of what I'm going and how I'm improving (hopefully!)
Day 1:
Re-introduction to the gym.
The gym at work has been completely remodelled and refurbished, and as it is located on the ground and basement floors of my biulding I really have no excuse not to go. All the cardio and strength machines are fully computerised allowing tracking and graduated improvement.
I had my introduction and a plan layed out for me (weightloss and muscle toning) and I did most of it today.
Plan:
Warm up:
10 mins on recumbent cycle (level 7) for 10 mins (personal goal 60rpm) HR 110 - 120:
Strength training:
Leg press: 2 sets of 10-15 reps 69kg
Narrow pull down: 2 sets of 10-15 reps 25kg
Chest press: 2 sets of 10-15 reps (unknown kg - must check!)
Seated row (need to check the real name for this!): 2 sets of 10-15 reps (unknown kg - again, need to check)
Cardio training:
30 mins treadmill weightloss/hill program; level 10; speed 4.5 kmph (HR 120 - 140)
After I felt energised and righteous! Now it is 2 hours later and my muscles feel all wibbly, especially my arms! They've never had a workout (other than carrying my riding tack) for years.
Anyway I plan to go to the gym 4 days a week (Mon, Tue, Thur and Fri) before work (yawn) - that will be the difficult thing, getting out of bed!
Anyway, onward and upward!
